Travel never fails to remind me how small I am, but how big my heart is. Experiencing the changing landscapes has been truely humbling. I feel everything here. Soaking up the textures of every street I walk down, every interaction with a stranger, even the desert sand in my pockets has its place.

I have seen so much already, my eyes have never been so busy. Straight into the deep end, Cairo to Luxor. The phrase ‘Sensory Overload’ doesn’t even come close… A melting pot of ancient gods and Islamic mosques, modern life turns to uninhabited sand dunes in the blink of an eye. Awe inspiring beauty, extreme poverty and all the chaos in between.

I feel blessed to view it all through a privileged lens, so I do my best to see all sides. Walk the long way, visit local shops and engage in conversations when I can. Of course the tourist traps are popular for a reason, but the energy in the streets here is palpable. Deep in Ramadan celebrations and sacrifice.

What a cruel, beautiful world. I feel alive.
